Vertical Church: What's In a Name?
A quick survey of life on this planet reveals that humans tend to spend most of our lives focusing horizontally. Competing agendas, philosophies, rituals and activities vie for our time, resources, attention, and affections. What if we took a different approach? How might our lives be impacted if we lived out Colossians 3:1-2?
"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." Colossians 3 v. 1-2
What if we shift our focus vertically, where we become enamored with Jesus and allow Him to profoundly affect the trajectory of lives right here, right now? What if we invest in others to do the same? We want Vertical Church to be a people consumed by the hope that, as we set our gaze vertically, we discover there is nothing greater than knowing and following Jesus. May our all-consuming passion be to bring glory to God in every arena of life as His story unfolds in our generation!
