Leadership

Like many people in the Pacific Northwest, I was not raised going to church. In fact, I went once as a child and did not find my way back until I was in college at New Mexico State University. Looking back, it may appear that Jesus was nowhere to be found in my past, but God was patiently orchestrating all the details of my story culminating with His rescue of my life in the fall of 1989, where He revealed my need for forgiveness, birthed in me faith to entrust my life to Jesus, and radically altered the trajectory of my life.

My wife, Gina, and I dated in high school & throughout college, and during Spring Break of 1992, we were married. During our last several decades together we have been blessed with three incredible daughters and have served in various ministries together.  I have been a missionary to college students in Missouri, a Student Pastor at a church plant while in seminary in Texas, a Student Pastor and Lead Pastor in Nebraska (when the Huskers were still good), and moved to Orlando in 2014 where I served on staff as a Campus Pastor and Teaching Pastor before launching Vertical Church in the Summer of 2022.

When I’m not engaged in ministry, I enjoy spending time with my family & friends, playing Pickleball, running, fishing, watching college football, playing the drums, perfecting smoked meat on my pellet grill, and riding my motorcycle.
